Top 10 Service-Learning Moments from 2013-2014

1. Service-Learning launched this new logo in the Fall of 2013

2. For the first time Service-Learning was in 8 colleges this year. 

 

3. Through our partnership with the Office of the Registrar, students can now seek out Service-Lerning experiences when registering for courses each semester! 

4. Service-Learning Newsletter was featured by Massachusetts Campus Compact

In the Massachusetts Campus Compact's April newsletter, the Service-Learning February newsletter was listed as a useful model for getting the word out on campus engagement. 

5.  Huge turn out at the Fall and Spring EXPOs 

Both of this year's EXPOs broke records of attendance and participation. 

6. Service-Learning Team Managers

This spring, we piloted the Service-Learning Team Manager (S-LTM) Program. With great success we are pleased to announce the continuation of S-LTMs into the upcoming academic year. 

7. Partner Spotlight at Pancakes & Partnerships

The Service-Learning team was pleased to spotlight our long time partner 826 Boston at our Center wide Community Partner appreciation breakfast. 

8. Presidential Service Awards

Faculty Member Dr. Sue Freeman is being awarded the Presidential Service Award from Citizen Schools for her commitment to their programs and youth. 

9.  First Service-Learning course in College of Computer and Information Science

This spring, Service-Learning was a part of the College of Computer and Information Science in Dr. Andrea Parker's course - Computer and Human Interaction. 

10. Consultation Skills & Massachusetts Promise Fellowship

"The students were highly intelligent and professional and provided insightful feedback to support us in improving our Fellow recuritment practices. We have already implemented some of their recommendations and are seeing positive results." -Colleen Holohan, Director
