Dear Staff and Families of QSI International School of Chengdu, Dear Parents, This week has been a fantastic week here at QSI! We have had so much school spirit with our dress-up days, had nearly all of our students older than preschool at our Homecoming Game, welcomed our new Interim Director, James Rehberg, into our QSI Community, and learned who our new director is going to be for the upcoming school year! I have also learned that I will be moving to QSI Münster next year. Replacing me as Director of Instruction will be Ms. Jessica Pine, whose biography you can read below. I have truly enjoyed my past four years here at QSI Chengdu, having the opportunity both to teach and work in administration. From the dedicated staff and parents to the incredible students we have, Chengdu will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for making my time here incredible. I look forward to making the next few months memorable ones for our QSI community! Gratefully, Jessica Pine has spent 8 years as a classroom teacher and 5 years as an Administrator. Jessica has her teaching and principal certificate from the State of New Hampshire. Her Masters Degree from American University in Washington DC is in International Training and Education, with a concentration in Curriculum Development. Jessica has taught all grade levels, Kindergarten through 8th at some point during her teaching career. With her family, Jessica spent one year in Nigeria as a Director of a primary school. In this role she wrote the curriculum for the school, created a Parent Advisory Council and provided several teacher trainings on a variety of topics. When she returned to the United States, she continued as an Education Consultant for the school, traveling back and forth from Nigeria to provide teacher trainings and curriculum support. Since she returned to the United States, Jessica earned her principal certificate and started working at Sant Bani School in New Hampshire. Her current role at Sant Bani School is Director of Curriculum and Program, where she conducts teacher evaluations, deals with discipline issues, plans and implements Professional Development for teachers, facilitates Professional Learning Community meetings, and organizes meetings with parents. She also works with teachers on writing and implementing curriculum. Jessica spends most of her time supporting teachers and students with curriculum support and making changes to enhance the program at Sant Bani. She will be coming to QSI Chengdu with her husband, who will also be teaching at QSI Chengdu and their two children, who will be in grades 6 and 8. Jessica is excited to join the QSI Chengdu community! |
