It’s spring, and frog loves his new pond but learns that he needs to avoid a little boy and his fishing net. When Spring Comes by Kevin Henkes. This gentle story captures the awe of animals as the dead of winter gives way to spring. Penderwicks in Spring by Jeanne Birdsall. This book isn’t really about spring, but it’s the penultimate book in the beloved series. The final book, "The Penderwicks at Last," comes out in May. Sun Above and Blooms Below: A Springtime of Opposites by Felicia Sanzari Chernesky. This wonderful picture book, featuring collage-style art, encourages children to spot opposites around the farm.
