Thank You for Giving in 2019!

What a glorious and intense year that was! Thank you 2019 for bringing Keaton's Child Cancer Alliance so many returning and new partners, supporters, volunteers, beautiful family events, healing children and families, the chance to touch the lives of little angels, and a vision for all that is possible for this charity.

From the bottom of each of our hearts: staff, board of directors, and each of the 225 families we touched this year, thank you! Your continued excitement, determination to bring healing, and abundant care for others changed lives this year! If you could see the sparkle in the eyes of these children when our family navigator arrives in their hospital room, home, or greets them at one of our family events. You know your impact and it's all worth it!

In Gratitude,

The Keaton's Team

Holly Jolly Celebration 2019

Special thanks to everyone involved in making our annual Holly Jolly Celebration such a festive & fun event for children with cancer and their families. Over 300 guests enjoyed a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, presents for each child, dinner, dessert, face painting, holiday crafts, family portraits and special appearances by The League of Heroes Inspired. This magical evening brought children and their families together in a setting where they felt heard, understood, and supported. Holly Jolly was a safe place where kids could enjoy a break from their treatment to share in smiles, hugs, and laughter.

This event was made possible with the support from sponsors, in-kind donors & volunteers including UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, Zocalo at The Fountains, Chicago Fire, Buckhorn Grill, Whole Foods, Smart & Final, Del Campo High School, The Magic Family of Clowns, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Dez Vision Photography, Girl Scouts, League of Heroes Inspired, Kelley Family, Lakeshore Learning, Alfaro Family, Ava McMenamin- Del Oro High School, Lola Stacy- St. Francis High School, First Tech Federal Credit Union, Boys Team Charity League of Granite Bay, Mechanics Bank, Shasta Linen Supply, Celebrations!, Community Service Organization, Del Rio Family, PCG Commercial, and Brookfield Residential.

Meet Keaton Kiddo ~ Ameilia

Meet Amelia.  This sweet 5 years old Loves unicorns, LOL dolls, & playing with her siblings.

Amelia was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at 4 years old. Her grandparents, Amelia's legal guardians, were raising her and her three siblings when they received this devastating news. Her grandparents were all too familiar with cancer and its treatment as their very own son, Amelia's uncle, was diagnosed with ALL in 2013 at the age of 16. He is now a cancer survivor and provides HOPE for his young niece and she undergoes treatment.

On behalf of the all the families KCCA supports, the Board of Directors and the staff, thank you for your partnership in helping us achieve our mission.

It was an honor to be able to share our work with your team at your annual Sales Retreat on the 15th of January. But, the response from everyone at Summit Funding was a testament to the compassion and culture of this great company. Summit Funding commitment to giving back to the community is inspirational.

We are thrilled to have Summit Funding join us a partner in helping ensure that families with a child battling cancer are not alone on this difficult journey.

Thank you Todd Scrima, CEO, Jack Satterlee, VP Human Resources, Charlotte Radmilovic, Director of Finance and Rick Ruby.

Supporting Families This Holiday Season

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the holidays look very different for their family. From not being able to have a real Christmas tree to not attending normal family gatherings for the fear of getting sick. Some children are admitted in the hospital, preparing for a transplant, or having a surgery on or near Christmas day. With the focus being on their child’s treatment and wellbeing, parents/guardians simply do not have the financial means, energy, or time to gather their children’s wish list items.

Mother of two year old Bryson shared, “Since my son was diagnosed with Leukemia things have been really stressful and hard. I am a single mom and not working in order to care for him. I instantly felt relieved in knowing that we would have support for Christmas. You are a true miracle. We appreciate all of the help from you!”

Our annual Holiday Adopt-A-Family Program sponsored 37 local families fighting cancer. This program would not be possible without the generous sponsors – 32 local companies and/or individual families. We thank the 2019 sponsors for their time, thoughtfulness, and kindness towards bringing happiness to so many families.

For more information on how to get involved in this annual program as well as other opportunities to become involved, please visit our Get Involved  page on our website, or contact us directly at 916-784-6786.
