Congratulations to our first GP skin cancer fellows!

Central and Eastern Sydney PHN, along with its partners, would like to congratulate the nine GPs who officially graduated from the first MultiLevel Skin Cancer Fellowship in May this year. These GPs have developed a high level of competence in the detection and treatment of skin cancers, allowing them to provide better care to their patients within their own general practice setting. We are pleased to announce that enrolments are now open to GPs practising in the St George and Sutherland areas for the next fellowship program, which will commence in August 2016. Feeding newborns and infants can be challenging and distressing for both the parent and their child. Physiological or psycho-social factors, such as attachment, milk supply, time constraints and mums returning to work, emotional issues, pain and discomfort, allergies and intolerance, disease and infection, and medication use can all have a great influence on the feeding practices of the mother and her child. Click here to read more

 

New hepatitis C eReferral system in the making

South Eastern Sydney Local Health District is trialling a new way for GPs and primary care providers to communicate with tertiary viral hepatitis services. The PRISM (Patient Referral and Intelligent Service Matching) system aims to ensure that GPs can refer people requiring specialist hepatitis C management to the service most appropriate for their individual needs and preferences.
