Happy Girls Write Now Day!

Did you know? March 8th is not only International Women's Day—it's Girls Write Now Day! During Women's History Month, we're honoring Girls Write Now mentors, mentees, and our community at large, who are carrying the torch for all the women and gender expansive writers who came before us. As we pave the way for new generations of stories to be told, we stand on the shoulders of activists, poets, journalists, leaders, artists, and so many more writers. For us, every day is a day to celebrate—and make—history. Find out how you can join our movement.

WEEKEND RECAP

Girls Write Now & Diane von Furstenberg Walk for Mentors

Featuring Mentee Performance by Megumi Jindo

"Like a Queen guards on either aisle she enters. The paths lit by those who were once shuddered and oppressed, the passage and plights lifted because there were those before us who led with passion and ferocity. For a better world. For their daughters. And for their country."

Girls Write Now mentee Megumi Jindo read her poem "The Vision We Reach" during the breakfast and panel following the Vital Voices Mentoring Walk this past Saturday.
