The MCO Contracting Fairs provide a great opportunity to meet representatives from the Managed Care Organizations that cover your region, build relationships and ask your contracting questions. Additionally, the Office of Mental Health will present on “lessons learned” on contracting from the adult behavioral health transition to managed care.

How to Prepare:

-Completely fill out the Children Provider Information Form (click here then click form to download) and bring enough copies to share with each MCO of interest. This form will allow MCOs to better understand the services you offer and provide them with your key contact information.

-Give thought to who you should have in attendance. If there is a specific person at your agency that is or will be responsible for MCO contracting, please make sure that person attends.

-Allot enough time to meet with each MCO that is of interest to your organization. Each MCO present will have their own table. Expected MCOs are included above. Stay tuned for further updates as additional MCOs RSVP.

-Think about the information you will want to obtain from the MCOs. Here are some possible questions:

1.    Who should providers contact for information about the following areas: contracting and provider requirements/expectations?

2.    What is the best way for providers to gain a better understanding of MCO requirements relative to: reporting and data exchange; service authorization/LOC and utilization management practices; credentialing process; billing; QA/QI/Incentive opportunities?

3.    What is the best way for providers to communicate and collaborate with the MCOs?

4.    On an ongoing basis, who do we call and how do we best collaborate with the MCO around exceptionally challenging cases (members)?
