Need help prepping for your semester?

Coulter Faculty Commons – HL 156

Whether you are creating a new course, re-using previous content, teaching online, or face-to-face we all need to be ready for the first day of the semester.  Spend the day getting ready for the Fall 2016 semester.  Bring your course materials and your computer to the CFC on August 16th.  The CFC will guide you to complete some of the necessary tasks we all need to get done before the semester starts.

We will work with you on:

  • Your syllabus
  • Blackboard format and frameworks
  • Planning Day 1
  • Welcome letter/announcement

GA Conference on Critical Thinking

The General Administration of UNC is hosting a system meeting and exploration of methods of fostering and assessing authentic critical thinking for our students.

There is a call for a registration of a team of 12-15 from each member campus. The CFC is helping to facilitate the gathering of interested members of the faculty and staff to represent the campus and report back to the university.

A New Launch Page at mywcu.wcu.edu

myWCU is Western Carolina University's new secure, web-based resource portal for Applicants, Students, Faculty and Staff.  myWCU will make accomplishing tasks and finding information such as dates and deadlines, financial aid information, registration, housing, academic resources and student records, CatCard balances, timesheets/ leave reports easier. A key feature of myWCU will be single sign-on access to many resources.  myWCU replaces the existing online tool, My Cat. 

myWCU launched successfully on May 28, 2016.  We are always open for feedback for improving the site and the interface.
