Spotlight on Families!

Nurse Family Partnership Program at
Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, TX

This issue’s spotlight focuses on the rare accomplishment for a single father to graduate with special honors at his Nurse Family Partnership graduation. Jeremy Davis' inspirational story began after his daughter's mother passed away in childbirth. He decided to continue the curriculum with his NFP nurse home visitor, Marsha Lewis.

After two years in the NFP program, Jeremy received the STAR Award for being an exceptional participant of the NFP program. Jeremy's successes encourage other the male participants in THV programs to be involved in the care of their children and family.

Baylor Teen Health Clinic

Nurse home visitor, Teresa Sanford, celebrated the graduation of her first  family!  The special thing about this graduation is that the mother remained in the program after turnover at the program site which shows her resiliency, commitment to become a great parent, and dedication to overvcome. Teresa's great support, therapeutic relationship, and rapport with the family made this milestone achievable.
