I-40 Pavement Rehabilitation Project Begins

GUY's survey department has completed their field survey for an I-40 pavement rehabilitation project in Sequoyah County. This is the first step of a project GUY is designing to rehabilitate approximately 4.4 miles of pavement along I-40. Proposed improvements include full depth replacement of the existing pavement on both east and westbound I-40 for the full width of the travel lanes and shoulders. In addition, all ramps at the Dwight Mission Rd interchange will be rehabilitated with parallel acceleration and deceleration lanes. The project is currently scheduled to let in 2028.

  • Commute times have increased by 7.7% since 2011
  • Each Oklahoman pays about $394 each year due to costs from driving on roads in need of repair
  • Over the next 20 years,  Oklahoma's drinking water infrastructure will need $6.9 billion in additional funding.
