LECTURE ON TRANSIT DESIGN AND URBAN LIVING NEXT WEEK
The first of five spring lectures is "Open Transit: Transit Design for Urban Living" by Architect Peter Cavaluzzi  FAIA, Principal, Perkins Eastman, New York, and specialist in large-scale work, in which building and public spaces are conceived together as a complete design.

BAUHAUS STUDENTS VISIT SOA
A group of students and faculty from the Bauhaus University at Weimar are visiting SOA for two weeks.  This studio, led by Prof. Bernhard Klein, is studying urban interventions in Miami.  Please join them for lunch and a lecture.

FIRST AND THIRD YEAR STUDENTS GO ON FIELD TRIPS   
Professor Frank Martinez will accompany his First Year Class (ARC 102) for a site visit in Key West tomorrow, January 17.  After a walking tour led by Professor Martinez, the group will visit the site for the “Solares Hill Neighborhood Preschool” - focusing on the conception of Civic Spaces & Buildings.  On Friday, January 24, Professor Armando Montero, will lead the Third Year Comprehensive Studio to the Bok Tower and Gardens property in Lake Wales, Florida.  The studio will be working on an Education and Event Center at that tourist attraction.

GRAD STUDENT PRESENTS PAPER IN MALAYSIA
SOA Graduate Student Ehsan Sheikholharam presented a paper on “Tension and Urban Sustainability: Case Study - The Metropolis of Mashhad, Iran” at a conference “Sustainable City 2013” in Malaysia from December 3-5.
