With editor Katherine Ziesing currently in the United States, looking at unmanned aerial systems technology, I have the task of putting ADM's Defence Week Premium newsletter together for you this week.

This week there is very much a maritime theme running through the pages, beginning with the appointment of  an Expert Advisory Panel to oversee the process of selecting a partner to work with Australia on Future Submarine. This is an important process and the appointment of four very capable people to ensure probity of the evaluation process is welcomed.

In other nautical news, Navy has formally commissioned its first MH-60R Seahawk Romeo maritime helicopter squadron and ADM's South Australian contributor Philip Smart spends a day at sea off historic Cadiz , aboard one of the Navtantia LCM-1E landing craft destined for the Canberra-class LHDs.

All this and more in this week's DWP.

Regards,

Nigel Pittaway
Deputy Editor
