Beth Spence Scholarship
The Seashells Foundation Endowment is generously awarding the Beth Spence Scholarship to provide support for a PhD candidate within the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery (Sydney Nursing School). The scholarship is intended to support research that aims to improve the coordination of care for individuals and families at times of vulnerability and is valued at $26,000p.a for up to 3 years. The scholarship is open to citizen or permanent resident of Australia who hold an AHPRA registration as a registered nurse or midwife. Applicants who are currently applying for permanent residency will be considered. More Details

Britton Craigie Scholarship
The late Clare Rosalind Craigie generously bequeathed to the University of Sydney funds for the welfare, benefit, assistance or advancement of female research students enrolled in the Faculties of Health Sciences, Medicine and Nursing. The scholarship is valued of $15,000p.a and may be used to top-up scholarship. The scholarship is intended to assist with completion of a thesis and applications will be accepted from currently enrolled female PhD students who have successfully completed 3 years full-time / 6 years part-time enrolment. Applications are open to domestic and international students however no tuition fees will be covered. More Details

Royal Freemasons’ Benevolent Institution Scholarship
Funding for this scholarship has been generously donated by the Royal Freemasons’ Benevolent Institution to provide support commencing Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students undertaking research in the area of aged and end of life care at the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery (Sydney Nursing School). The scholarship is valued at $30,000p.an for up to 3 years. The scholarship is open to citizen or permanent resident of Australia. Applicants who are currently applying for permanent residency will be considered. More Details

Skellern Scholarship
This scholarship has been generously donated by the Skellern family to assist early to mid-career nurses and midwives to undertake or complete a PhD. The intention of the scholarship is to provide financial support to working nurses and midwives who wish to enrol in full-time PhD study, or those who wish to move from part-time to full-time study to complete their PhD. The scholarship is valued of $30,000p.a for up to 5 years. The scholarship is open to citizen or permanent resident of Australia who hold an AHPRA registration as a registered nurse or midwife. Applicants who are currently applying for permanent residency will be considered. More Details

Postgraduate Scholarship in Plant Physiology
A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidate with first class honours degree in science or related field to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in plant physiology.  The project is to investigate the link between leaf function and 3-D anatomy. The scholarship is valued at $26,288p.a for up to 3 years. Applicants must be Australian citizens, permanent residents or New Zealand citizens. PhD Scholarship in Genomic Selection in the Black Tiger Prawn
An exciting PhD project is available in The Australian Research Council Industrial Transformation Research Hub (ARC ITRH) for Advanced Prawn Breeding. This project will aim to optimise breeding programs by integrating whole-genome prediction techniques (including Bayesian and Machine Learning approaches) to improve performance of P. monodon. Scholarship is valued at $31,296p.a for up to 3 years or $8,000p.a top up for current APA/UPA, IPRS or equivalent scholarship holders. Applications are open to domestic and international students however no tuition fees will be covered. Postgraduate Scholarship B in Archaeology 
A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidate with a good honours degree in archaeology to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in archaeology. The project is to investigate the form and variability of backed artefacts in western and northern Australia and to build a dataset for phylogenetic analysis. The scholarship is valued at $25,406p.a for up to 3 years. Applicants must be Australian citizens, permanent residents or New Zealand citizens. Postgraduate Scholarship in Experimental Economics
A PhD scholarship is available with the School of Economics for research on issues related to the development of self-control over different types of rewards over the life span. In addition, the student will also be expected to develop his or her own independent research agenda. The successful candidate would be expected to have knowledge in microeconomics and applied econometrics at an advanced Master’s level. Applications are open to domestic and international students and is valued at $26,300p.a for up to 3 years with a possible extension of 6 months. Please note that this scholarship does not cover any tuition fees payable by international students. Application dead line has been extended, those students who have already applied need not reapply.

The Heart Foundation is offering a range of funding across a variety of categories for research into heart, stroke and blood vessel disease.
