The initiative includes a statewide phone line – 1800 595 212 - to provide telehealth support to anyone who feels they are not coping. It is supported by 15 mental health hubs located at appropriate existing health services to provide a welcoming, low stigma entry point for people seeking help for their mental health and wellbeing. South Eastern Melbourne PHN is hosting three of these hubs in Frankston, Officer and Berwick:
The service is available to anyone, of any age, and who may or may not have a GP mental health treatment plan. Commissioning ProcessSEMPHN worked closely with primary care services, hospitals, the Victorian Mental Health Pandemic Response Taskforce and the State and Federal Governments in identifying suitable locations for the hubs, based on criteria provided by the Federal Department of Health. The service is not designed to replace other mental health services throughout south eastern Melbourne or duplicate or fragment support. Rather, it complements existing and newly funded mental health services under the guidance of the Victorian Mental Health Pandemic Response Taskforce. The three hubs were selected from an open Expression of Interest through SEMPHN's eProcure. For more information about the service, visit www.headtohelp.org.au. |
