GUY is now Cherokee Nation TERO Certified!

Diana Askew has led GUY's Survey department since August 2020. She joined the GUY family after moving to Bartlesville from her previous home in Conifer, Colorado in May of 2020.

Diana has 41 years of experience in land surveying and recently received her Oklahoma land surveyor's license to add to her Colorado credentials. She originally graduated college with an Associate of Science degree in Cartography and later returned to college and obtained her BS degree in Information Technology.

Diana has been married to her husband Morris for 24 years. Between the two of them, they have four grown children and 11 grandchildren ranging in age from 5 to 26 years old. Outside of work, Diana enjoys automobile road track racing with Froggy, her green 2002 BMW that she built herself. She also enjoys gardening and designing jewelry. Her family pets include an Australian Shepherd, two horses, and two feral cats that live in the shop on the ranch she and Morris purchased in Bartlesville.

Construction was recently completed on Bridge #133 over Little Drum Creek in Osage County. GUY's design replaced a narrow structurally deficient bridge dating to 1930. Located on a county major collector, the bridge was not safe for school busses and heavy farm vehicles. GUY used a single span 145 ft beam design for the new bridge. By using the longest beams allowed in county bridge designs and thus eliminating piers in the waterway, GUY reduced the potential for debris build-up.

This project also included realigning the roadway to eliminate dangerous curves. GUY chose an alignment that had minimal impacts to landowners and allowed the road to remain open during construction. GUY also coordinated with the Osage Nation for a roadway easement on tribal land.

Late in the design process, an overlay was added to the plans for the roadway between this bridge and Bridge #132 over Marchesoni to the west.

A recent graduate from Oklahoma State University, Kurt is an Engineer Intern working in the design and bridge inspection departments. He is located in our Tulsa office.
