Hello ,
I’m Savanna Cheer, your new chapter relations manager. I’ve been on board one month and during that short time I’ve learned so much about how IABC works and heard about some incredible efforts undertaken by chapters.
I’m here to support your goals of running a successful chapter that meets the needs and expectations of members and contributes to IABC’s success. While I am still learning the answers to your questions, please know that I am available and prepared to seek out information wherever I can.
In the coming months, I will be working diligently with volunteers and our headquarters team to draft an IABC chapter development strategy. The primary outcomes for this process are:
1) Delivery of clear and consistent support to chapter and regional leaders.
2) Documented, well-defined chapter/region/headquarters relationships, complete with guidelines, procedures and best practices.
3) A comprehensive Chapter Toolbox to foster success regardless of chapter size, scope or geographic location.
I’m looking forward to meeting many of you early in 2014. The year kicks off with a fantastic Employee Engagement conference in Denver on 9–10 January, Leadership Institute in New Orleans on 6–8 February, and the 2014 Gold Quill Awards program, which is now accepting entries!
Along with these exciting events, IABC is looking for its next executive director, and we could use your help! Please consider adding the following announcement to your chapter or regional websites:
“IABC wants to maximize its outreach for excellent candidates to fill the executive director position. We are looking for a visionary director who is skilled in providing strategic guidance and also has hands-on operational expertise, preferably in an association. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to operate in a global economy.
Please encourage any suitable candidates you know to apply by submitting their résumé online.”
Thank you for your valuable service and dedication to IABC. I have a passion for volunteerism and serving others, and I’m excited to serve you in my new position.
Have a wonderful holiday and peaceful new year.
Savanna Cheer
