May Term Travel Still Beckons

More than 30 years after graduating from Mary Baldwin College, Ann Gordon Evans ’65 was drawn to the idea of trekking to Israel with a group of MBC students during May Term – a short term study session that often involves domestic or international travel. The 1998 trip, “one of the highlights of my life,” Evans said, launched an eight-year travel tradition, as she explored countries throughout Europe with students and faculty.  Read more >>

The institution opened up its 174th academic year under the college-wide theme “moment” with a forward-looking presidential address, picnic, and a milestone in women’s leadership. Leadership in Training: Campus Community Welcomes ACE Fellow

Classical vocal artist and educator Aimé Sposato joins Mary Baldwin College as an American Council of Education (ACE) Fellow for the 2015–16 academic year. Shenandoah University’s associate dean for undergraduate studies and professor of voice is one of 47 fellows nominated by their institution’s senior administration and selected this year following a rigorous application process. Read more >>

A July 21 op-ed in The Washington Post examined political turmoil occurring more than 7,000 miles away as the African nation of Burundi held its presidential election. The main administrative offices of the College of Education have moved to the Pannill Student Center, just upstairs from the Pub, and within a central hub of the Mary Baldwin College campus.
