Vote in the Election on February 16th

With the presidential primaries coming up in April and the general election in November, ASM has been working to ensure all students have the correct forms of identification and proof of residency to vote. If you do not have a valid Wisconsin drivers license or ID card, you need to pick up a Voter ID card at Union South Wiscard office free of charge. ASM will be located around campus in Memorial and College Libraries, Dejope and Gordon's Dining Halls, and the Unions registering voters from February 17th-March 16th. Vote for Your Student Council Representatives

Elections will be held  March 7- 9.

Student Council

Elections for the 23rd Session of ASM are scheduled for March 7-9th. 33 representatives will be elected in each School and College on campus to represent the student body. Student Representatives on Council meet every other Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. to discuss student issues and approve the allocation of student segregated fees on campus.

SSFC

Meets every Monday and Thursday at 6:30pm

SSFC stands for Student Services Finance Committee. The committee oversees $45 million in segregated fees, funding non-academic organizations such as the GSSF, WSUM Radio station, Rec Sports, CCTAP, Wisconsin Union and UHS. This committee also negotiates a contract with Madison Metro, providing Bus Passes for students. Find out more

Finance Committee

Meets Every Tuesday at 6:30pm

Finance committee debates and approves grants to student organizations from an overall budget of $520,000. Grants for travel, events, and operational expenses are offered to all RSOs. They approved 91 Travel Grants and 54 Event Grants in the past semester. Find out more or apply for grants

 

 
 

Building the Grassroots Student Movement

Grassroots Committees:

University Affairs, Legislative Affairs, Sustainability, Equity and Inclusion, Press Office, and Shared Governance

Each committee works on issues such as College TextBook Affordability, Mental Health, Responsible Action, Cultural Competency, etc.

Equity and Inclusion Shadow Day

On Thursday, April 14th, 2016 there will be a multicultural tour day for prospective Badgers. It will also incorporate a “Shadow Day” component where potential UW freshman students will be paired with current UW student-mentors of similar identity (race/ethnicity, gender, religion, class, etc.), major, and/or interests. The committee is still seeking interested Badgers to be mentors.
