On Monday 27 August 2018, we will be relocating to our new office at Level 5, 201 Coward Street, Mascot and closing down our Ashfield and Kogarah offices. We’re sad to say goodbye to the Ashfield and Kogarah offices but the new Mascot office will be bright, airy and modern. The move will save us money on rent and infrastructure and allow our staff to more effectively provide support to you from a central location within our region.

Psychiatry support line for GPs is now open!

If you are a GP practising in an eligible Primary Health Network (see below), you now have access to a psychiatrist who can support you in managing the care of mental health consumers. The service is free, and available Monday to Friday, 9.00 am - 5.00 pm. GPs can register for the service by visiting gpsupport.org.au or call 1800 16 17 18.

The new NSW Immunisation Schedule has been released, effective from 1 July 2018. The schedule changes, schedule (including A3 poster) and FAQs are now live on the NSW Health website.

Can MenACWY vaccine be co-administered with MenB vaccine? 
MenB vaccines can be co-administered with MenACWY vaccines. Prophylactic administration of paracetamol is recommended before and after administration of Bexsero in children aged <2 years (refer to ATAGI’s advice on the use of Bexsero).

 
 
 

Lead-contaminated opium alert

There have been a small number of case reports of significant lead blood levels in excess of 100μg/dL in New South Wales and Victoria that are believed to be a result of lead-contaminated opium products. Blood lead level testing should be recommended for any patient suspected of using illicit opium products at any point since early 2016.

The Agency is partnering with RACGP to deliver free GP led presentations and webinars on My Health Record in general practice. Although the CESPHN offices will be relocating to Mascot in August this year, the CESPHN CPD program will continue to operate uninterrupted across the region. We will be using a number of venues around the St George and Inner West areas in place of the current Ashfield and Kogarah office locations. CPD venues we will be using include:
