![]() Records Services Update - April 2018In this issue:
1. Welcome to the brand new Records Services newsletter! We know that staff sometimes have difficulty finding clear and up to date information on what we do and how we can help. We hope that by sending out regular updates, it will be easier for you to connect with us. We want this to be as useful and effective a resource as possible, so please do provide any feedback to us via the contact details at the end of this email. 2. New for Content Manager users: Linking Outlook folders to Content ManagerDid you know you can link Outlook email folders to Content Manager (CM) folders to enable ‘drag and drop’ filing? If you already use this feature, you will know that the upgrade to CM 9.1 made the process of linking folders more complicated. We are pleased to announce that, as a result of your feedback, we have had a software ‘add-in’ developed to simplify the process. With the add-in, the user experience is closer to previous versions of CM. To get started, follow the instructions here (and please also note that we are working on making help more available to you via Knowledge Base - keep an eye out for more articles coming soon!) 3. Raising a ticket for technical issues with Content ManagerJust a reminder that you can raise a ticket in ServiceNow for any issue that you may experience with Content Manager (CM) via the IT portal (https://unimelb.service-now.com/it - choose 'Fix Something' then 'Software'). Raising tickets for CM issues in ServiceNow will ensure that we are able to efficiently track, respond to and resolve them. If your issue is urgent, please raise a ticket in ServiceNow and then call us directly. 4. Now online: introductory guides to University records managementWe all know how hard it can be to come to grips with new concepts (and new jargon!). In an attempt to make it easier for staff new to records management, whether that's as a whole or in the University of Melbourne context, we have developed some guides to key concepts. Click through to explore (and please let us know if you have suggestions for others): 5. Coming soon: Information Awareness MonthDid you know that May is Information Awareness Month (IAM)? The purpose of IAM is to increase public awareness of information and its place in all aspects of daily life. Events during May focus attention on the role that information plays in day to day activities and promotes the value of good information practice. Keep an eye out for upcoming events, and take a moment to think about the role and value of information in your working life! 6.
