Help us test the new Austroads websiteWe are redesigning our website to better serve the needs of the people who use our online information. Austroads is working in partnership with Squiz, a digital agency, to develop the new information structure for the website and we invite you to test how well the information is structured to meet the needs of people like you. The task will take about 20 minutes and be conducted online between 21–27 February. Participation is voluntary and you are free to withdraw your consent at any time during the testing. Note that we are testing the information structure and not your ability to find the information. There are no right or wrong answers and we simply want to know your experience finding the information. Please send a quick email to Tana Tan ttan@austroads.com.au to register your interest in helping with testing.

Performance-based asphalt specification proposed to capture new technologiesAustroads' latest report proposes a national performance-based asphalt mix design specification that aims to take full advantage of current and emerging asphalt technologies. Guide to Pavement Technology Part 4B: Asphalt recommends an approach to the design and characterisation of asphalt mixes in Australia and New Zealand. However, practice varies between road agencies and may not take full advantage of the enhanced performance characteristics that many new asphalt technologies can provide. It is envisaged the framework would primarily be used for higher-end application and, at least initially, would not replace current specifications for routine works.
