Please enjoy! ![]() ![]() Introducing New CEO Donna Rendell We are pleased to announce Donna Rendell as our new CEO. Donna has a diverse background in communications and fundraising and a history in building up not-for-profit organisations so they can support more people. A word from our CEO - Donna Rendell I am delighted to be here and have already learnt so much about asthma and why the work of Asthma WA is so important. Like so many people, I had no idea of the impact of asthma. I was shocked to learn that one West Australian still dies from asthma every fortnight. Given most deaths are preventable, the team here is focused on changing that statistic by educating and helping people to manage their asthma better and improve their quality of life. I hope you’ll find these newsletters useful. Our educators will share helpful Asthma tips and I’ll keep you informed of key developments. I am excited to be serving all West Australians impacted by Asthma. Best Wishes ![]() Donna Please email what you'd like to hear about and feedback to marketing@asthmawa.org.au Living with Asthma and Allergies Asthma WA is hosting a FREE seminar to help you live better with allergies and asthma. Small children may need to use a mask with a spacer. Why do I need to use a spacer? More of the medicine will get into the lungs and it can reduce side effects like a sore throat. Do I need to wash a spacer? Yes, a spacer needs to be washed regularly in soapy water and left to air dry. Wash before the first time you use it and then every month after. Where can I get a spacer from? A spacer can be purchased from a pharmacy or from Asthma WA’s online shop www.asthmafoundationwashop.org. There are different shapes, sizes and colours and cost. Smaller spacers can be used by children and adults. Some spacers have features such as whistles to ensure they are being used correctly. ![]() ![]() ![]() Ask us for help!
