Shared Value Project

Australia leading the way

It's been a busy few months for the global shared value community, starting with the 2018 Shared Value Summit Asia Pacific held in Sydney on 18 April where business leaders including Ken Henry AC from NAB and Elizabeth Bryan AM from IAG convened and spoke about the role of shared value in attracting investors and talent to their organisations.

The conversation continued in New York early May, where members of the Asia Pacific shared value community participated in the 2018 Shared Value Leadership Summit. It was a thrill for me to open the Summit, and provide an update on the progress and success we are experiencing in Australia. It was also a privilege to be in the room when Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton closed the proceedings and shared her views on the opportunity for capitalism to solve social issues.

One of the key questions I am now being asked is what is the secret to the success of the Shared Value Project? I am pleased to say that our secret is in the strong community we have built - people like you - who champion shared value within your organisations and beyond.  Whilst we still have a long way to go before we realise the challenge of becoming a shared value nation, we are certainly on our way.

Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told the Shared Value Leadership Summit in New York earlier this month that she hopes shared value becomes a global movement.
