Graduate Welcome
The Faculty of Science Graduate Welcome will be held on Monday 19 Feb from 9.30am-11.30am in the Malaysian Theatre, Melbourne School of Design (basement). All commencing graduate coursework students are invited to attend this event to obtain important information about the Faculty of Science and the services available to all students at the University.
2018 Climate Hack
Multidisciplinary teams will work to solve a pre-determined climate challenge using the Design Thinking process, creativity and innovation. A panel of judges will assess each groups idea and pitch. This event includes a range of speakers presenting about design thinking, climate change entrepreneurship and the art of pitching. Prizes will be awarded. For registration & information click here. Diagnostic English Language Assessment
Are you a commencing student in 2018? Have you considered sitting the DELA? The DELA is an assessment tool that helps you prepare for the challenge ahead. The DELA provides a profile of your academic English skills and gives you information about relevant support programs that will both assist with your academic language skills and enhance your chances of academic success. Following completion of the DELA you will have the opportunity to apply for the Graduate Science Language Development Program. This is an 8 week workshop style program that provides a supportive and open environment for academic language development. To participate, register for the DELA, 2hr sessions 16 – 23 Feb.

The Australian Network on Disability (AND) is offering students the opportunity to be mentored by some of Australia’s best and brightest professionals from a range of industries through the PACE Mentoring program. Student Impact – seeking committee members
Student Impact is looking for Committee members to speak to students during Summerfest 2018. Student Impact offers you the chance to get involved in philanthropy and fundraising and make a real difference to the University community. Counselling and Psychological Services Student Workshops
Once again CAPS is offering a series of workshops for students throughout Semester 1, 2018. The Lunch Time series offers the opportunity to explore topics such as ‘Assertive Communication’ and ‘Creating Social Connections’ in an open and supportive space. Students are also invited to attend Mid-Week Mindfulness, which takes place every Wednesday between 1.15 – 2.00pm in the Dulcie Hollyock Room, Baillieu Library. More information.
