Investment Ready: Certified Site Program

On December 02, 2013 The Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Employment (MEDTE) started Pre-screening Applications for its Investment Ready: Certified Site Program to provide financial and marketing support for site certification. 

The Investment Ready Program is open to public and privately owned properties. Industrial property owners can access a grant reimbursement for 50% of costs, up to $25,000, for eligible expenses that support the certification process. In addition, certified sites will be included in MEDTE international marketing initiatives.

Advanced Manufacturing Fund

On December 09, 2013 FedDev Ontario announced a $200-million Advanced Manufacturing Fund (AMF) to support develop Ontario's AMF Sector.

Eligible established for-profit businesses and not-for-profit organizations involved in advanced manufacturing are encouraged to apply. "AMF supports investments that create new and innovative products or production methods, with market entry or commercialization within five years" - AMF. Eligible activities in projects include: research leading to a practical application, technological advancement, and adoption/adaption of highly innovative products, technologies and processes.

On Wednesday, November 20th, The Hills of Headwaters Tourism Association celebrated excellence in tourism and hospitality at their annual tourism awards ceremony.

Headwaters Food and Farming Alliance

The Town of Caledon is a partner in the Headwaters Food and Farming Alliance (HFFA). HFFA is collaborative initiative which oversees and supports activities across multiple Working Groups with a vision to foster a food system in the Headwaters that is productive, sustainable, transparent, and fair; supports the health and well-being of our residents and food providers; and contributes to the prosperous and equitable economy.

On November 25, 2013 HFFA hosted the 2nd Annual Headwaters Food Summit and Local Trade Fair. The event was well attended and offered participants the opportunity to network, share ideas and learn from each other and the experts on hand.
