Central and Eastern Sydney PHN launch new drug and alcohol treatment services for Sydney community On 7 July 2017, we were delighted to launch a range of new drug and alcohol treatment services to improve the health outcomes of individuals affected by drug and alcohol misuse in our community. Our primary health network has awarded a total of $2.4 million of Commonwealth funding to ACON, the Community Restorative Centre, Odyssey House and WHOS to deliver these services which will support more than 700 people in our community using programs that we know work. Click to read more Fellowship to increase capacity of primary care to manage pharmaceutical opioid dependence We would like to congratulate our Drug and Alcohol Advisory Committee member, Dr Suzanne Nielsen, in recently receiving a Translating Research into Practice (TRIP) Fellowship from the National Health and Medical Research Council, around enhancing the identification and treatment of pharmaceutical opioid dependence in primary care settings. Click here to read more Young Adult Diabetes Service Royal Prince Alfred Diabetes Centre and the Charles Perkins Centre RPA Clinic offers a comprehensive person-centred Transition Care and Assessment Program for young adults (16-30) with type 2 diabetes who are newly diagnosed, have had the diagnosis for some time or who are transitioning from paediatric to adult care. RANZCP has recently published a series of new clinical practice guidelines. Click to read more Ability links Ability Links NSW (ALNSW) continues to support the ongoing reforms of the disability system in NSW. ALNSW supports people with disability, their families and carers to connect with their local community to achieve their goals and aspirations, and live enriched and fulfilled lives. NDIS CPD update Recently the EIS Board carefully considered the key recommendations of the CESPHN NDIS Impact Needs and Planning Project Report and approved the next step in supporting the roll out of the NDIS across our region.
