APRIL 30 LITTER CLEAN UP AND KNOW YOUR NEIGHBOR

Westwood Civic Association announces a Litter Clean Up and Know Your Neighbor Event along Bracken Woods Lane and Gobel Avenue on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. til 1:00 p.m.

With help from Price Hill residents and students from Elder High School and Mother of Mercy High School and with the support of Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, the Islamic Center, and the Skyline Chili in Price Hill, we will pick up litter along Bracken Woods Lane, Gobel Avenue, and Gobel Court and then enjoy hot dogs and other lunch items while meeting our neighbors.

Interested residents should meet at the parking lot of the Islamic Center on Gobel Ct (within eyesight of the intersection of Bracken Woods and Gobel) at 9:00 a.m. to pick up supplies. Once we have completed the clean up, we will meet back in the parking lot for our Know Your Neighbor event. In addition to a grill out with hot dogs donated by Skyline (and other food donations are still most welcome), neighborhood organizations will share information about their activities and upcoming events.

The purpose of the event is multi-faceted: improve public safety by bringing people together, cleaning up litter, and by connecting with our neighbors. It's a start as residents seek to reclaim their streets from crime and neglect. See our pamphlet on How to Make Your Neighborhood Safer or contact us about starting a block watch.

Westwood Civic Association is committed to the general welfare of the community, in cooperation with other neighborhood associations and organizations with similar purposes. It provides a voice representing the concerns of our neighborhood that is heard and respected by the City and it provides a focus to discuss neighborhood issues and events. It addresses crime, zoning, and development issues, and communicates with neighborhood residents about community issues.

Our next meeting is Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Westwood Town Hall where we will present the Students of the Year Awards and have a presentation on traffic engineering and accident information for Montana Avenue and a presentation on traffic engineering plans for Boudinot Avenue.
