MTI Monthly - April 2016This month in Maritime, a new report from insurer Allianz highlighted economics, cyber-security and extreme weather (amongst others) as the biggest threats facing shipping today. Reuters wrote that a possible Brexit could spell years of disruption for the UK shipping industry. Piracy was said to be falling as cheap oil means the risks increasingly outweigh the financial return. New methods of navigating at sea are bringing with them new risks in the quest for clarity of information.
