Goodbye and fine sailing

John Turnbull

(9th October 1945 – 20th January 2016)

Artist, teacher, engineer, business man, philanthropist.

John Turnbull was also our father.

He began his career with the British Arts Council in 1972, as an exhibition designer and, loving the region, arrived in Yorkshire in 1979 to bring up his family and establish our family business. In 2001 he handed the day to day management and ownership of Inc Dot to us, his children, but was active in the business until he retired last year when diagnosed with cancer.

It is with profound sadness that we tell you all that after an exhausting and lengthy battle with this pernicious disease, which he fought with courage, humour and bloody minded resolve until the bitter end, our father left us at ten minutes past midnight on Wednesday 20th January.

He died relatively peacefully holding our mother’s hand.

This has all happened so quickly and will come as a great shock to the many who knew him.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday 5 February at 2.30 pm.

Please let us know if you would like to attend.

Thanks for the cards, emails and kind words we continue to receive, It’s good to know he will be so fondly remembered.

Kindest Regards

Nick and Pascha Turnbull
