Inhofe: Rubio Has Stood with Me to Block Cap-and-Trade

This afternoon, U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) sent a release promoting Marco Rubio's conservative record on energy issues after false media reports. Check out Senator Inhofe's release below.

Statement from U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.):

OKLAHOMA CITY - U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) released a statement today correcting false media articles regarding Marco Rubio's position on cap-and-trade:

"To suggest that Marco supported cap-and-trade in Florida is absurd. Not only did Marco block Charlie Crist's radical environmental agenda, but he has stood with me every step of the way to stop President Obama's job-killing energy policies, including cap-and-trade. A major reason I was proud to endorse him in his 2010 campaign and am proud to endorse him for president is his steadfast commitment to protecting our economy from Washington bureaucrats set on killing American energy through schemes like cap-and-trade instead of creating jobs in the 21st century."

Over the past two decades and as the Republican leader of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, Inhofe has successfully led the fight to block efforts in Washington to enact cap-and-trade, highlighting that it would amount to the "largest tax hike in American history." Previous cap-and-trade proposals are estimated to cost Americans between $300 billion and $400 billion a year, which amounts to roughly $3,000 per family.
