Mrs King's Farewell Assembly

 
 

The retirement of Mrs King as librarian at The High School, after 32 years of dedicated service, was celebrated at a special assembly on Monday 21 December 2015 in the school gym. During the extraordinary whole-school assembly, which was attended by many former staff and pupils, tributes were paid to Mrs King to thank her for her loyal service to The High School community over the past three decades, in charge of the oasis that is the High School library.

French Christmas Market

Form 4 French pupils held a Festive French Christmas Market at The High School. With rows of stalls, balloons and tinsel, the Reynolds Hall was transformed into a Winter Wonderland.

Green Schools Update

Advancing on last year’s success on obtaining our Energy flag, we are moving onto this year’s theme of Water, while we continue to progress in our work in Litter & Waste and Energy.  The next Green Schools meeting is on Thursday 21 January at 8.30am.    Read more

Congratulations to Leonard Abrahamson (HSD, 1973-1983) whose latest movie Room has been nominated for Best Motion Picture, Best Performance in a Motion Picture, and Best Screenplay in the 73rd Golden Globe Awards.

Science Success  

Congratulations to Dylan Walsh, Form 4, who came third in the recent IrJSO National Olympiad at DCU and was awarded a gold medal!  He was subsequently selected to represent Ireland and was awarded a bronze medal in the individual competition at the 12th International Junior Science Olympiad in Daegu, Korea in December.

 
 

Senior Science Quiz

During Science Week each year the ISTA (Irish Science Teachers Association) hold a table quiz for sixth year science pupils at Trinity College Dublin.  Read More

 
 
 

Helen Kane Charity Challenge - Forty Foot 

Congratulations to all the Form 4 pupils and their teachers who took part in this year's Helen Kane Charity Challenge at the Forty Foot. December temperatures did nothing to dampen the swimmers' spirit and they even managed a wave for the camera

Congratulations to all the Form 4 pupils and their teachers who took part in the Charity Sugar Loaf Hill Walk  in December.  It was a thrilling day and one that will be remembered for years to come.
