The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) has launched an improved employer application process that is quicker, easier and online. CSCS are encouraging employers to embrace the new online process as applications made by post or email will no longer be accepted. Read more.

Fake card manufacturer jailed

A man who manufactured and sold fake construction industry skill cards has been jailed for more than 3 years. Online trader Andrew Weeks was sentenced on Friday 19th October at Warwick Crown Court. Read more.

New apprenticeship leads to CSCS card

Youthforce have developed a new skills development programme for the Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard for Laboratory Technicians. Anyone who completes this apprenticeship specifically with; Laboratory Technician NVQ Level 3 or Level 3 Certificate in Laboratory Technical Skills will be eligible for the gold Advanced Craft card. Digital college reinstated

CSCS is pleased to announce that the British Safety Council has reinstated the Digital College’s online Level 1 Award ‘Health & Safety in a Construction Environment’ course and qualification. The Digital College has further improved the robustness of the invigilation process and appointed Pitman Training as its invigilation test centre partner. Read more.

Build UK/CECA card audit

On the 3rd October 2018, Build UK and CECA carried out their annual SmartCard audit on their members’ sites. The audit is designed to promote the value of SmartCard technology. The results of this audit have now been compiled and released. Read more.
