International Trade Season

It’s that time of the year where Destination Hauraki Coromandel (DHC) invest time representing the region and tourism product at a series of trade events. If you engage with the international trade please double check your business is listed in the accommodation, activity or transport section here. Please make contact if you have any updates.

As always, keep us informed if you’ve got something we should be sharing with the world!

Regional Tourism New Zealand (RTNZ) IBO Event

Last week DHC’s General Manager Hadley Dryden spent 2 days giving 60 updates to Inbound Agents.

High demand for accommodation in our region continues, particularly around Tairua and Mercury Bay. There is also interest for more guiding and wellness product, plus recommendations for the top dining locations.

eXplore (Central North Island Trade Show) and TRENZ

We are getting ready to attend the eXplore show alongside 7 other regions and 105 products. This year there will be 9 stands from Hauraki Coromandel - the most we've ever had!

In May we will return to TRENZ alongside Driving Creek and also Mercury Ridge who are attending for the first time.

New Zealand Tourism Awards

Entries are now open for the 2025 New Zealand Tourism Awards, providing an exciting opportunity to highlight and celebrate the tourism industry’s individual and business successes.

This year there are 14 awards. Eleven awards recognise businesses which display excellence, industry alignment and are living the values of the Tourism Sustainability Commitment (TSC).

The winners will be announced at the New Zealand Tourism Awards Dinner being held on Wednesday 29 October, following Tourism Summit Aotearoa.
