April 2019 Engaging & Eco-focused Events This SpringAs spring rolls in, there are a plethora of opportunities to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. Green Communities SpotlightMeasure 68: Community Member Education ARC's Green Communities Program categorizes measures as either community-facing or government-facing. Government measures encourage local governments to reduce the environmental impact of their buildings, fleets, and policies. Community measures provide a pathway for local governments to encourage members of the community or their constituents to reduce environmental impact. There are 34 potential community measures - that's a lot! Measure 68: Community Member Education encourages local governments to educate their community members on all of the great environmental work they do for their residents using those 34 community measures. As an example, Earth Day events are an engaging way for governments to accomplish this measure. Eight of our certified Green Communities have earned this measure.
