EVST News April 12th, 2021 Follow EVST on Instagram @yaleevst Thank you to the students who attended last week's event about planning your senior essay. I am excited to hear about what wonderful projects and topics you all are thinking about for next year. A tip for underclassmen as well as students considering EVST: check out our online repository of EVST senior essays (going all the way back to 1985). I know that when I was considering different majors, looking at examples of senior essay topics was really helpful. Best of luck to our seniors who are finishing up their theses this week. Planning and executing a long-term project in isolation is tough for a whole range of different reasons. I am in awe of the work my senior colloquium peers are producing in the midst of such an overwhelming semester. Final stretch y'all! I am so grateful for the community I have found throughout this process and can't wait to celebrate with everyone. Another update is that this will be my last newsletter. I have enjoyed meeting so many wonderful EVST students through office hours, one-on-one conversations, events, and through this medium of a newsletter. If you want to get more involved or you have new ideas for EVST, please reach out and let us know. I hope you have enjoyed the newsletters over the past year. Reflecting on my past four years navigating environmental spaces at Yale, I am so grateful for the opportunity to have shared some of my favorite things, memories, and visions for the future of place-based environmentalism. As for next steps for me, I'll be spending my time saying a long goodbye to New Haven, making bread, and basking in the sun with dear friends.
