PROFESSOR SARA CAPLES LECTURES THIS WEDNESDAY
Award-winning New York artist and architect Sara Caples will present an intriguing lecture Artist < = > Architect at 6:00 p.m. in Glasgow Hall.  What is art in architecture? What is not? Can an artist practice architecture? Can an architect practice art? Is an architect ever really an artist? Professor Caples will explore some of the interesting confusions inherent in these questions. Refreshments will be served.

3DS MAX RENDERING WORKSHOP
Assistant Professor Ju Hong Park continues the 'Digital Design Workshop' series this Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in Building 48D, Third Floor, Multimedia Classroom; March 22 on 3DS Max Rendering; March 29 on Rhino Rendering; and April 5 on Sketch Up Rendering. RSVP to j.park2@miami.edu (19 students maximum).

MIAMI FOUNDATION'S PUBLIC SPACE CHALLENGE IS OPEN
Vibrant public spaces build a stronger sense of community by sparking social engagement between Miamians.  The Miami Foundation created the Miami Public Space Challenge to discover the best ideas for improving, creating, and activating local public spaces.  Anyone can post ideas, and anyone in Miami-Dade is eligible to submit.  The submission period is March 3 to April 8. 

DAWNTOWN - ARCHITECTURE IDEAS COMPETITION: ALTERNATIVE MOBILITIES
DawnTown is officially launching their new competition, Alternative Mobilities. The competition is open to professionals and students of architecture and other design fields to come up with a new type of transportation hub - one that acts as a generator for new ways to move around downtown in a more sustainable fashion. Entries are due May 12 and winners announced on May 30. Registration required.
