Hello
We hope you and your loved ones continue to be safe and healthy wherever you are in the world.
While the Ausfilm team and many of our members are working remotely, we are continuing to connect and engage with the Australian and global filmmaking community. We remain committed to supporting you through this very difficult period.
A lot has changed since our last newsletter to you. The Australian Film, TV & Radio school in partnership with the Australian federal and state government screen agencies, the guilds, Ausfilm and leading Australian production companies have been working together to develop and release COVID19 Health and Safety Protocols so that productions can get back up and working as soon as possible. Ausfilm will support AFTRS in distributing these protocols in the coming weeks.
Indeed many of you may have seen news that Australian TV show Neighbours and international production Children of the Corn have been filming in Australia over the last month. Inside Film reported that Australian distributors have started scheduling film releases in July. Thanks to the Australian Government's distancing measures to tackle the COVID19 crisis this week we are seeing the easing of restrictions in varying ways across Australia.
In lieu of getting back to normalcy Ausfilm and our membership have collected messages of unity and strength, collated tips to beat isolation fatigue and opened up homes and photo albums to our international filmmaking friends.
For any information regarding the status of filming or post-producing in Australia, please find more infomation on Ausfilm's COVID19 Updates with links to other relevant government agencies.
Sending hope and strength to you all,
The Ausfilm Team and Membership
