Kia Ora!

The Coromandel Cure is back in full swing after a pause during the peak of summer. Activity across radio, billboards, print, social media & 'influencers' is underway to support a strong recovery.

With roads open, sunny days and awesome sea conditions share your #goodforyoursoul invite, paired with #coromandelcure as we push the travel season into the endless summer. Feel free to touch base with any Cure’s worth sharing.

Sustainability Programme, Internship and Appointment

We are preparing the next iteration of Forever #goodforyoursoul. During the sustainability programme we accepted an internship from local resident and Victoria University student Casey Owen.

Working with key partners, Casey has made an impressive contribution working on the Hauraki Coromandel travel app. DHC have appointed Casey as the new Destination Executive, looking after social media, the consumer newsletter (travel e-news), the forever #goodforyousoul programme and travel app.

Climate Champions Pilot Programme

Destination Hauraki Coromandel is one of 12 Regional Tourism Organisations accepted into the New Zealand Climate Champions Pilot with The Travel Foundation and Expedia Group, supported by Regions Tourism New Zealand (RTNZ).

This pilot will complement work underway on the Hauraki Coromandel Travel App. Remember to keep your business listing on thecoromandel.com up to date as it will feature automatically on the Travel App.

Shorebird Coast

Pūkokorokoro Shorebird Centre have developed a new tour which offers a remarkable insight into this fragile ecosystem. A feasibility study and business case were completed for the Shorebird Centre during the pandemic, this tour is another step towards their ambitious vision:

Pūkorokoro shorebird coast is a world-renowned conservation site – host to a thriving shorebird population, inspiring conservation at a local and global scale, and providing wide reaching social and cultural benefits.
