Click here ABB potentially downlisted from endangered to threatenedWhat does this mean for your upcoming projects?Last month, we mentioned that the USFWS would be announcing the proposed listing status of American Burying Beetles (ABB). As you may have heard, they proposed to downlist the ABB from endangered to threatened with a 4(d) rule. This proposed change is out for public comment until July 2, 2019. Then, the USFWS will review and respond to the comments before making a final decision as to whether the species should retain its current status or be downlisted. What does this mean for you and your projects? Until the final rule is published, the ABB remains endangered. Any project development requiring permits or those that entail soil disturbance within the next 12 months at a minimum should be prepared to address the ABB (existing rules remain in place until new rules are established). What is a 100 year flood? With record-setting rainfall and widespread flooding in Oklahoma this month, many are wondering about the term "100-year flood." The term does not mean that a flood of this level will only occur every 100 years. Instead, it means that statistically, there is only a 1% (1 in 100) chance that a flood of this magnitude will occur every year. ![]() We hope everyone is staying safe and that
