Patients receive free examination, over the counter & prescription medication. On Sunday, March 17, 2019 Forgotten People Organization (FPO) made headlines on Juger Chinta Bangladesh Newspaper for their distribution of sewing machines as part of our “Women’s Empowerment Program” at Adamjee Bihari Colony, Siddirganj, Bangladesh. The event was Presided by Mr Syed Shahid Hassan, FPO’s Chief Executive Director and Mrs Aisha Hassan, FPO’s Founder. Joining the distribution event we had the pleasure of attendees: Nashik Municipal Panel Mayor-2 and 6-ward councilor Mr. Matiur Rahman Moti, Mr. MD Alauddin, FPO Program Director, Mr Abul Hasnat, Prominant Businessman, Mr Ashraf Uddin, Neckbor Master (Prominent people of the area) & Mr Md. Layayakat, Bihari Colony Chairman. Introducing Forgotten People Organization’s (FPO) New Empowerment Program: “Adamjee’s Coaching Center for Seamstress”. Our goal is to help empower the women of Adamjee Camp by coaching them on the basic tenants & techniques of sewing so they can start their own business as a seamstress to earn a living. Thanks to FPO’s Main Seamstress, Mrs Rokeya Alom. Her expertise in sewing has taught these young ladies to make garments of all types. Our "Home Improvement program" aims to help families of Adamjee Camp build or repair their homes We rebuilt & repaired a total of 9 homes during the months of January through March, 2019. Our "Water For Life Program" provides clean drinking water. Three water wells provides to 450 individuals (90 families) daily. FPO's Community Eco-Toilets benefits 130 Family daily, which is an average of 780 people. It is a sustainable solution for the camp dwellers as it provides a small income for selling the organic fertilizer to local farmers. The Eco System method converts Human Excreta to Organic Fertilizer. Thus eliminating the need of a sewage system for black water waste. FPO's Waste Management Program has numerous benefits for the camp dwellers of Adamjee as it leads to an improvement in their wellbeing. Meet Hira and Rawsan. A great team that helps & continues to keep Adamjee Camp clean from waste by picking up each residential homes trash on a daily basis. Hira & Rawsan are residents of Adamjee Camp and through FPO's Waste Management Program each family have contributed towards their salary to keep their community clean from waste. Every year we strive to make this Ramadan better than the last for the less fortunate. Join us in reaching our goal in giving the less fortunate throughout the WORLD a better RAMADAN this year by DONATING iftar packages to them. A family with an average of 4-5 will get the following in the food package: Rice, flour, gram, lentils, salt, sugar, sewaii, lacha sewaii, milk powder, soybean oil & palau rice. The packages will be sold as a 15 day package or 30 day package and the prices are as follows: $15.00 - 15 Day Package $30.00 - 30 Day Package Last Years Iftar Distribution served over 1600 families JUST A REMINDER EID Al-Fitr Prayer will soon be approaching after Ramadan and prior to this prayer a charitable donation called "ZAKAT AL-FITR aka Fitra must be given on behalf of every member of the family. The amount estimated in 2018 to be given for each member of the family is $10. |
