In this presentation, it is shown how order-tracked Operational Deflection Shapes (ODS’s) of a rotating machine can be used to detect and diagnose rotor unbalance, shaft misalignment, and soft foot. An order-tracked ODS derived from the spectra of multiple accelerometer signals acquired from points on the machine bearing blocks and base will be used to diagnose these three common machine faults.
