New Town Retail Precinct UpgradeCouncil Report available for viewingA report to the Council which recommends that the New Town Retail Precinct upgrade be implemented is on the agenda for the 30 May meeting of the City Infrastructure Committee. The meeting agenda is now available for viewing. The New Town Retail Precinct report is item 6.2. Click here to view the agenda. The report describes the proposed streetscape design and includes the results of the March/April consultation that was undertaken to to test the concept designs with the wider community. The concept designs were prepared in response to the New Town community's Project Action Team's vision and recommendations for the precinct, as presented to the Aldermen on 22 November 2017. The City Infrastructure Committee Meeting will be held on Wednesday 30 May at 5pm. The committee will make a recommendation to the full Council and a determination will be made about whether to endorse the implementation of the design at the Council meeting on 4 June. Both of these meetings are open to the public and you are welcome to attend. Thank you to everyone who read the background information, viewed the plans, filled out a survey, attended a workshop, talked with us at the Sacred Heart fair, visited the exhibition and told us what you think. An especially big thank you to the members of the Project Action Team who contributed their time, enthusiasm and energy to work together to re-imagine what the New Town retail precinct could be like.
