Stephanie Rennke and Cindy Fenton received the 2017 Maxine Papadakis Award for Faculty Professionalism and Respect and Henry J. Kaiser Award for Excellence in Teaching - Excellence in Inpatient Care Setting, respectively. The UCSF School of Medicine Teaching Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 5:30 pm in Cole Hall Auditorium (513 Parnassus Avenue, Ground Floor).

Sirisha Narayana and Kara Bischoff received the 2016-17 Outstanding Resident Teaching Award from UCSF OBGYN.
The Division of Hospital Medicine at UCSF Health was selected as a site for the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine (SIDM) and Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) collaborative, Starting to Address Diagnostic Error. Thank you Katie Raffel who took the lead in this project and others who was involved: Sirisha Narayana, Peter Barish, Andy Lai, Cat Lau, Kiran Gupta, Michelle Mourad, Sumant Ranji, Margaret Fang, and Brad Sharpe.

Rachel Weiss, Margaret Fang, Jenica Cimino, Andy Auerbach, and Wendy Anderson describe associations between physician empathy and patient anxiety, patient satisfaction with communication and encounter length.
Trevor Jensen and colleagues report results of a survey of procedure experts from the Society of Hospital Medicine Point-of-Care Ultrasound Task Force.
