Exhibition of Streetscape Concept Plan

Dear New Town Businesses,

As many of you would be aware the City of Hobart has been working with members of the New Town community since July 2017 to identify their key issues, priorities and aspirations for their main shopping strip.  Last November, after an intensive series of collaborative workshops, a 23 member community-based Project Action Team presented its recommendations to the Council.  In response to those recommendations, the City’s project officers have created a draft streetscape plan outlining proposed improvements to the precinct along New Town Road.

The next step is to share the draft plans with the broader New Town community.  We'll be 'setting up shop' in the main street and exhibiting the plans from Thursday 15 March to Saturday 17 March 2018.  We’d like the whole community to view and comment on the plans.

To officially launch the exhibition, we warmly invite you to join the Acting Lord Mayor, Aldermen, City of Hobart project staff and traders to celebrate the release of the draft plans:

In addition to joining us for the opening launch, we hope you can drop in during the exhibition times.  As key stakeholders to the project, our City planners and designers would love to hear your thoughts on the plans.
