The dspInstrument family from Danville Signal Processing is a collection of semi-custom instruments that can be tailored for the specific needs of your audio interfacing & signal processing applications or acoustic & vibration measurement systems.
While the majority of dspInstruments start from a specific customer requirement, Danville has many pretested circuits and existing PCB layouts, all of which fit into a standardised enclosure. Building on pre-existing hardware and software allows Danville to facilitate the design process quickly and efficiently.
Danville can create a dspInstrument to meet your specific needs, but without the cost of a full custom design, and in a much shorter time-frame.
Standard dspInstrument products are also available, and most include SHARC DSP, USB, digital I/O and two audio channels.

Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) has recently released a modified, lightweight version of the NXP hypervisor that supports partitioning and isolation for X-ES’ NXP QorIQ single board computers and processor mezzanine modules.
The NXP (formerly Freescale) hypervisor is a special low-level software program that facilitates secure partitioning. It acts as a partition’s resource and security manager, presenting a virtual machine to the operating system running in each partition.
X-ES is an active contributor to NXP’s open-source hypervisor software.

Nigel attended the UK Square Kilometre Array (SKA) Industry Day this week, to find out more about how FPGAs and high performance Single Board Computers can enable the implementation of this remarkable project.
The SKA will be the largest radio telescope and scientific instrument on the planet once construction is complete. 50 times more sensitive than the Hubble Space Telescope (even though it's ground-based), the SKA will need to manage more data per day than the world’s total daily internet traffic – a requirement that is driving technological innovation in Big Data computing and data handling with huge potential for social and economic benefit.
