US Senate May Vote on Graham-Cassidy Bill Next Week
Greg Ensell, Vice President of Government Relations

AzHHA has announced its formal opposition to the “Graham-Cassidy” legislation, the latest congressional effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. Because of the frenzied fashion in which the Graham-Cassidy bill is being considered, we lack the analysis necessary to make an informed decision, including a CBO score regarding the impacts of the bill to patient coverage and federal finances. AzHHA and its members are ready to work with our congressional delegation to address shortcomings with the Affordable Care Act, especially to stabilize the insurance market. This legislation is a step in the wrong direction and we encourage you to contact Arizona’s US Senators and ask them to vote NO by clicking here.

Point of Pride: Mesa Fire and Medical

Earlier this month, combat veteran and current Mesa Fire and Medical Firefighter Jesse Simpson was recognized as the 2017 Firefighter of the Year by United Fire. Simpson was nominated for not just a single act of heroism, but instead for his daily diligence striving to represent the best of what people have come to expect from the Arizona Fire Service. At the very core of the firefighter’s character is the desire to help those who can’t help themselves.
