Bring the Woods into your NeighborhoodsOctober is NeighborWoods Month - a time when local nonprofits team up with the Alliance for Community Trees to plant our leafy friends across urban and suburban landscapes. Neighborhoods and communities with a dense tree canopy have been proven to have higher property values and better air quality. In the Atlanta metro area, we have a tree canopy that leaves visitors with a lasting impression (and a little bit of envy). Trees are a strong part of our region's identity, both as an economic leader and an environmental steward. Planting events, annual tree sales, and Arbor Day giveaways help to maintain this identity while providing a healthy environment for all. In order to become a certified "Tree City"
