2026 BOOKSMetamorphosisOur Newest Anthology
Takes Flight This September "There is nothing that makes me feel more hopeful, earnest, and enlivened than reading young women's writing. With women's and femmes' voices being silenced, creativity undervalued, and what feels to me like a pervasive ambivalence clouding our daily lives—this anthology feels like coming up for air. Sharp, witty, heart-centered, and profound, Metamorphosis: 2026 Girls Write Now Anthology will remind you of everything that actually matters in our one and only soulful, complex, and (hopefully) art-filled life."

WRITING PROMPTMap-making Rediscovering Place Through Words Think about a journey, walk, or run you often take outside. Draw a simple map of what you encounter from your departure point to your destination. What trees, animals, plants, and people do you encounter? Where do you see care? Where do you see neglect? How does the weather affect where you live (rain, sun, wind, snow)? How many trees are on your path? Does the map you drew trigger any memories, questions or new realizations about the places you move through? Write a short letter to one of the non-human living beings on your map describing this path, your observations, questions and realizations.
Nadia's project in progress, a collection of lyric essays and watercolor marker doodles that explore grief and intimacy, inspired this prompt to expand mentees' understanding of home.
Connections that last. Maps that illuminate. Words that heal. These are the ingredients that transform a hopeful writer into one ready to take flight. Your gift makes it possible.
