June Grants Newsletter.Welcome to the June edition of my Grants Newsletter. The Powering Communities Program is now open for Expression of Interests. Grants of between $5,000 and $12,000 are available to help community organisations reduce their energy costs, with up to $67,700 in funding available for the Shortland electorate. There are also many other grants that will benefit the community within Lake Macquarie and the Central Coast area. 2021 Powering Communities Program Amount: $5,000 to $12,000
Expression of Interest: Open now! The Powering Communities Program aims to help community organisations reduce their energy costs. The objectives of the program are to assist not-for-profit community organisations to: - Upgrade equipment to reduce energy consumption
- Invest in energy monitoring and management systems
- Invest in on-site renewable energy and solar-connected batteries
- Undertake energy management activities and assessments, such as energy systems assessments and feasibility studies.
Example of projects eligible include: - New split system air conditioners
- Solar and heat pump bathroom and kitchen hot water heaters
- Replacement of non-LED lighting with LED lighting
- Controls upgrades for air-conditioning and lighting
- Other activities including energy audits and installing metering equipment
- Appliances replacements, eg induction cooktops and commercial refrigeration
- Energy generation projects including solar photovoltaic panels and battery storage

Future of Work ProgramAmount: Will fund the student contribution fee for selected applicants in short courses.
Closing Date: 25 June 2021
Purpose: This program is designed to prepare people to become the regional workforce of the future. It will create 1,000 skills development opportunities by funding students undertaking short courses and advanced apprenticeships in key regional areas. - Hunter Region, New South Wales

Advanced Manufacturing Early Stage Research Fund Amount: $100,000 - $4 million
Closing Date: 30 June 2021
Purpose: To boost innovation, skills and employment in advanced manufacturing. The intent of the fund is to support small-scale and pilot research projects in advanced manufacturing, and benefit smaller firms and early stage research. For more information: Click here

Australia Council for the Arts' - Organisations Amount: $20,000 - $100,000
Closing Date: 7 September 2021
Purpose: To deliver a range of activities that deliver benefits to the arts sector and wider public, including national and international audiences. Organisations that undertake arts programs, projects or that provide services to artists are welcome to apply. These activities must last no longer than two years from the proposed start date. Australia Council for the Arts' - Individuals & Groups Amount: $10,000 - $50,000
Closing Date: 7 September 2021
Purpose: Only individuals and groups may apply to this category. You must be an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident, and a practising artist or arts professional. For more information: Click here

Australia Post Community Grants ProgramAmount: $10,000
Closing Date: 4 July 2021
Purpose: To connect individuals and communities to improve mental health and wellbeing.Some projects that are unsuccessful for a grant of up to $10,000 may be considered for a smaller grant of $2,000. For more information: Click here

Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants Amount: Up to $150,000
Closing Date: 8 February 2022
Purpose: To preserve Australia's wartime heritage and to involve people throughout the nation in a wide range of projects. The categories include: - Community Grants - Up to $10,000 for community-based commemorative projects and activities, including: the building of community memorials and the preservation of wartime memorabilia that is significant locally but is not necessarily nationally significant.
- Major Grants - Grants between $10,001 and $150,000 for major commemorative projects and activities that are significant from a national, state, territory
and/or regional perspective.

Stronger Country Communities FundAmount: $100 million
Opening Date: 25 June 2021
Purpose: To deliver and enhance sports-related infrastructure projects. including change rooms. Up to $50 million will go towards projects that deliver and enhance women’s sporting facilities, including change rooms. Strengthening Rural Communities ProgramAmount: $10,000 through the Small & Vital Stream, and $25,000 through the Bushfire Recovery Stream.
Closing Date: 24 August 2021
Purpose: To give the thousands of small rural, regional and remote communities across Australia an opportunity to access funding to support broad community needs. A broad range of charitable projects are considered under this program, including: - Purchasing or hiring equipment and materials
- Community infrastructure projects
- Organisational capacity building
- Community resource development
- Delivering, or providing activities, events, programs and services.

Regional Events Acceleration FundAmount: Stream 1 $50,000 - $200,000, Stream 2 in excess of $100,000
Closing Date: 17 December 2021
Purpose: To support the social and economic recovery of our regions, helping organisations attract new major international and domestic events to regional areas and support existing regional events to grow even bigger and better.The types of events eligible for funding include: - Major sporting and lifestyle events
- Major food and beverage events
- Major music, art and culture

Crown Reserve Improvement Fund (CRIF) Amount: $17 million

Purpose: The CRIF supports asset improvements on Crown reserves by providing funding for: - Repairs and maintenance projects

Dine & Discover Amount: $100 per adult
Closing Date: 30 June 2021
Purpose: To encourage the community to get out and about and support dining, arts and tourism businesses. NSW residents aged 18 and over can apply for 4 x $25 vouchers, worth $100 in total. - 2 x $25 Dine NSW Vouchers to be used for dining in at restaurants, cafés, bars, wineries, pubs or clubs.
- 2 x $25 Discover NSW Vouchers to be used for entertainment and recreation, including cultural institutions, live music, and arts venues.

Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand (RISE) FundAmount: $75,000 - $2 million
Closing Date: 31 December 2021
Purpose: To support the arts and entertainment sector to reactivate.The program is targeting the arts and entertainment sector organisations who are seeking to restart, re-imagine or create new activities. The fund will provide finance to assist with the presentation of new or re-shaped cultural and creative activities and events including festivals, concerts and tours. For more information: Click here

Business Events Boost ProgramAmount: $50,000 - $200,000
Closing Date: 30 June 2021
Purpose: To support operators that are buying or selling business events. Projects must demonstrate the potential to influence domestic decision makers of existing business events or assist in the conversion of new domestic business events. For more information: Click here

Small Business Fees and Charges Rebate Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: 30 June 2022
Purpose: To helps businesses recover from the impacts of COVID-19 and encourages growth by reducing the cost of running a business. Funds can be used to offset the costs of eligible NSW and local government fees and charges. These include, but are not limited to: - Food authority licences
- Liquor licences
- Tradesperson licences
- Event fees
- Outdoor seating fees
- Council rates.

NSW Carers Week Grants 2021 Amount: $300
Closing Date: 14 June 2021
Purpose: To assist in running events or activities, either online or in person to support and celebrate carers across NSW as part of National Carers Week. This year, National Carers Week will be held from 10-16 October 2021. For more information: Click here

Export Assistance GrantAmount: $2,000 - $10,000
Closing Date: Ongoing
Purpose: To help eligible export businesses in NSW access global markets. If you run an exporting business, or if you were exporting goods or services before the impacts of COVID-19, bushfires or drought, you may be eligible for an export assistance grant of up to $10,000. LMCC - Events Funding Assistance Program Amount: Total funding $247,000
Closing Date: 3 June 2021
Purpose: To help reactivate the community following the COVID-19 lockdowns. Applications are now open for the first round, with a second opening in August for events to be held from October 2021 to December 2022. Funding will be offered across both rounds of funding, in three categories: - Community events up to $10,000
- Local events and celebrations up to $2,000
- Sponsored festivals and events up to $20,000

NAB Foundation Community Grants Amount: $10,000

Purpose: To help safeguard your community with funding for projects that prepare for natural disasters, support long-term recovery and build resilience against future disasters. Community organisations with a charitable purpose, schools or childcare centres seeking funding for a program that furthers charitable purpose can apply for a grant to support a project, program or initiative.
