CoHo Coffee Chats are back!
These one-on-one virtual chats are designed to bring Housers together to discuss working in the affordable housing industry over a cup of your favorite beverage. Whether you’re new to the industry or a seasoned professional, get together and share best practices, career journeys, struggles, and perspectives. You might meet a new collaborator, find a mentor or mentee.
How it works:

- We’ll connect you with your coffee chat partner the week of August 9th
- Schedule your 45-minute coffee chat for some time in August or September
- Complete a five-minute feedback survey before the end of September

ICYMI: Social Housing
“A city no one except the wealthy can afford is not really a city — it is a gated enclave.” Social housing is any ownership or rental housing that may be owned and managed by the state, by non-profit organizations, or by a combination of the two, usually with the aim of providing affordable housing, protected from market pressures. The event discussed best practices and provided case studies of social housing around the world, and touched on how to phase social housing into a community like San Jose.
This panel was organized by San Jose State University Human Rights Institute, Affordable Housing Network, Southbay Community Land Trust, First Community Housing, and the Coalition of Housers (CoHo).
